
Buy your own fixtures or supplies and YOU arrange for delivery.
If you have a general contractor, set up your own accounts and arrange for your own deliveries - lumber, concrete, bathroom/kitchen fixtures etc or what you can, deliver to the site yourself.. An honest "General" will not charge $ on top of materials cost and won't mind if you buy them yourself. Enough said.
Do you want a fireplace but don't want to pay the price for a masonary fireplace - around$10,000 to $15,000 or better, depending on style. Buy a free-standing fireplace (Regency is a great brand - we have one). Frame the structure, put concrete board on it, and apply faux stone or faux brick!

Let's talk DOORS - lots of choices here. You might find antique doors at an antique store or at a salvage business you can find solid pine or oak doors for a fraction of the $$ of your local lumber supplier stores.

You have 8 full working burners (no warmers) and 2 full size ovens for usually about HALF of the cost of double ovens and a cooktop. And finally, find a construction materials auction in your neck of the woods. Here
in Kansas City metro area, Greenwood, MO has a construction materials auction every
couple of months or so and the date can be found in the newspaper. You can buy most
anything there such as doors, black roof felt for the roof, windows, doors, tile,
lumber, wiring, plumbing fixtures etc. One of our customers just bought black 30
weight roof felt for his roof for $2.50 a roll rather than about $20 a roll...so
there ya go.
